Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are the two main characters pitted against each other in the film. Piper Perabo plays the part of Julia, the beloved wife of Robert Angier. Michael Caine stars as Cuttter, Angier's engineer who builds the machinery for his tricks. Scarlett Johansson is hired as the beautiful and lovely assistant for Angier. David Bowie is a notorious scientist, along with his assistant Alley, played by Andy Serkis. This all star cast proves to be the perfect ensemble for this dark and twisted movie.
Plot of The Prestige
Robert Angier and Alfred Borden are two young and passionate magicians. They are good friends and partners until one night a big trick goes tragically wrong. Pitted against each other, they stop at nothing to try and learn each other's secrets. The rivalry takes on an obession like quality and each risk everything to try and become the best magician of all time. However, nothing in the world of magic is as it seems.
